Valley Brake Service was established when Leonard and Jerry Unruh bought out Monson Brake Service. At that time the business was just a small brake shop for cars and pickups. Shortly after we took over we added our first alignment machine for vehicles and started doing brake services on farm trucks. The next addition was our exhaust work, which included a pipe bender, so we could do custom bending. The next expansion was selling tires.
We started seeing a need for truck suspension services and alignments in the area, so in 1997 we modified a shed on our farm to fit our truck repair needs. We bought an alignment machine which expanded our heavy duty truck work and included suspension work such as kingpins, springs, spring pins, and rebushing Hendrickson Walking beams.
Jerry has been involved with trucks in some way or another since he was eleven years old, and decided to try selling trucks. In 2008 we bought a couple trucks for resale, and that line of our business has been expanding quite rapidly. We sell mostly Kenworth T800s and W900s, but we usually have a couple Peterbilts and Freightliners on the lot also.
